A Lawyer You Can Trust
I was arrested and charged with DUI in February of 2016. After spending a night in jail and having my whole world turned upside down, I was given the phone number of Mr. Colin Bresee. Distraught, I called him on a Sunday morning to seek his advice about my DUI. He immediately gave me action items and set an appointment for a consultation the following day.
Mr. Bresee spent over an hour with me discussing all of the ramifications of a DUI charge and my options for moving forward. Even before I had asked him to be my attorney in this matter, he had given me enough information to defend myself. He even told me about a law firm he highly recommended which only handled DUI cases. My life seemed to be in disarray, but I knew I had found someone to help me make sense of everything going forward. He didn’t make any promises he couldn’t keep. Mr. Bresee told me that he lived for trials, which was perfect since I intended to take my case all the way. I knew from the beginning he was the attorney for me.
Not once over the coming months did I question that I had chosen wisely. I never felt out of the loop, because he was always in touch through phone calls, texts, and emails. When we needed to subpoena evidence from video cameras, he had all the paperwork filed in what seemed like minutes. I was able to sleep a little better knowing Mr. Bresee was handling my case.
During my DMV hearing, Mr. Bresee’s preparation and poise were apparent. He was able to get my case dismissed by the DMV so my driver license was reinstated. I continued driving throughout this entire ordeal, apparently, this never happens.
When it came time for my motions hearing to determine if my case would go to trial or be dismissed, the prosecution wanted to reschedule because the police officers were not available to testify. Many attorneys would have shown up and taken the new court date without saying much of anything, not Mr. Bresee. He submitted to the judge a case he had recently taken to the Colorado Court of Appeals. From my understanding, a judge allowed a case to go through to trial even though evidence proved it should have been dismissed. The court of appeals ruling overturned the judge and dismissed the case. Mr. Bresee let the judge know of his intention to follow this same course of action if my case moved forward to trial.
Finally, the day arrived for another motions hearing. My phone rang a few hours before and it was Mr. Bresee to tell me MY CASE HAD BEEN DISMISSED!
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Mr. Bresee to all of my family and friends. I know all cases are different but in my DUI case, he was the best lawyer I could have hired.
